Application Checklist
Thank you for considering The University of Alabama’s Manderson EMBA Program. Early application deadline for Huntsville-EMBA is May 3, 2010. Early application for Tuscaloosa-EMBA is August 2, 2010.
There are six basic steps to the application process:
1. Complete the Graduate School application
University of Alabama Graduate School application
Once on the Graduate Application Center Web page. Scroll down page and click on BEGIN ONLINE GRADUATE APPLICATION. You will need to create a First Time User Account before completing application.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to select as your proposed major: Executive Business Administration, MBA.
For Huntsville applicants, select Huntsville EMBA as the place of initial enrollment. Select Fall 2010 as Proposed Entrance Term.
For Tuscaloosa applicants, select On-Campus as the place of initial enrollment. Select Spring 2011 as Proposed Entrance Term.
A $50 application fee must also be submitted to the Graduate School for U.S. Citizens and Permanent U.S. Residents and a $60 fee for International Students. The application fee may be paid online following the submission of the application.The $50 application fee is waived for all active duty military and veterans.
Check the status of your application via the Graduate School application Web site.
2. Complete the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and submit your score
Manderson EMBA requires the GMAT or GRE for all MBA applicants. To register for the GMAT, visit http://www.mba.com/mba/TaketheGMAT. You may also register online for the GRE by clicking http://www.ets.org. Please request that official scores be sent to The University of Alabama.
If the GMAT or GRE has been taken within the last five years, requests for score reports can be made by calling GMAT at 1.800.GMAT.NOW or GRE at 1.800.GRE.CALL. We cannot accept GMAT or GRE scores older than five years.
Waivers for the GMAT or GRE may be considered for applicants who meet specific criteria established by the Manderson Graduate School. Applicants meeting the criteria are not guaranteed a waiver but rather qualify for consideration for the waiver. 3. Admissions Questions
Please respond to the following Admissions Questions in the (Word) document below, and email your responses to Cheryl Altemara, caltemara@cba.ua.edu. Please read each question carefully and keep your responses to a maximum length of two paragraphs per question. IMPORTANT NOTE: This step replaces the "Statement of Purpose" required by the Graduate School. It is not necessary to submit a "Statement of Purpose" to the Graduate School.

4. Two letters of recommendation:
Applicants must submit two professional letters of recommendation. The letters may be mailed or emailed to the EMBA office using the Letter of Recommendation Form linked below. If letters are emailed, they MUST be sent from the email account of the recommender to Cheryl Altemara at caltemara@cba.ua.edu. One letter must be from your supervisor and the other from someone within your company or a client. Your employer should include in his letter of recommendation a brief evaluation of your performance on the job, professional abilities, and progress within your organization. The intent of this document is to also confirm your manager's acknowledgement of your dedication and time commitment to the program.

5. Request all college transcripts:
College transcripts must be requested from all undergraduate/graduate institutions attended from which nine (9) credit hours or more were earned and must be official (sealed with registrar stamp). Please request that two (2) copies of your transcripts be sent to our office. International transcripts must be written in English or accompanied by an English translation provided by the issuing institution. Transcripts can be sent to the Manderson EMBA Program.

6. Personal interview and resume
All applicants must participate in a personal interview with an EMBA staff member. An interview may be conducted at any time during the application process. The in-depth interview will take about one hour to complete. All candidates must bring a current resume to the interview. Please visit our calendar for upcoming interview cities and dates.
