Application procedures
Thank you for considering The University of Alabama’s Manderson EMBA Program. Early application deadline for Tuscaloosa EMBA is August 1, late deadline is September 12. Early application deadline for Huntsville EMBA is April 1, late deadline is June 20.
There are four basic steps to the application process:
1. Complete the Graduate School application

Be sure to select Executive Business Administration, MBA as your proposed major. For Huntsville applicants, select Off-Campus as the place of initial enrollment. For the Tuscaloosa Executive MBA, select On-Campus.
A $30 online application fee must also be submitted to the Graduate School. The application fee may be paid online following the submission of the application.
In addition, there is a $25 EMBA application fee due to the EMBA office. Please submit a check, payable to the EMBA Program, and mail to:

2. Complete the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and submit your score
Manderson EMBA requires the GMAT or GRE for all MBA applicants. Registration can now be done online. To register for the GMAT, visit http://www.mba.com/mba/TaketheGMAT. You may also register on-line for the GRE by clicking http://www.ets.org. Please request that official scores be sent to The University of Alabama.
If the GMAT or GRE has been taken within the last five years, requests for score reports can be made by calling GMAT at 1.800.GMAT.NOW or GRE at 1.800.GRE.CALL. We cannot accept GMAT or GRE scores older than five years.
Waivers for the GMAT or GRE may be considered for applicants who meet specific criteria established by the Manderson Graduate School. Applicants meeting any one of the criteria are not guaranteed a waiver to the GMAT/GRE requirement but rather qualify for consideration for the waiver. 3. Complete all other application materials noted below:
- Statement of purpose
- Submit two Letters of Recommendation (Letters should be sent directly to the Manderson EMBA Program). Letters of recommendation should be from your employer and a client, or both from within your company. Your employer should include in his letter of recommendation an evaluation of your performance on the job, professional abilities, and progress within your organization. The intent of this document is to also verify your manager's acknowledgement of your dedication and time commitment to the program. - College transcripts must be requested from all undergraduate/graduate institutions attended and must be official (sealed with registrar stamp). Most institutions offer transcript services online. Transcripts can be sent to the Manderson EMBA Program.

4. Personal Interview and Resume
In addition, all applicants must submit to a personal interview. An interview may be conducted before an application is submitted. The indepth interview will take about one to one-and-a-half hours to complete. All candidates must bring a resume to the interview.

Reapplying to the EMBA Program
If you are reapplying to the EMBA Program, you will be required to resubmit an online application and statement of purpose, as well as pay the application fee.
Transcripts, GMAT/GRE, and letters of recommendation are maintained for one year. We will also require you to provide an updated resume if there have been any professional changes.
