Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Ms. West currently serves on the Executive MBA Council's Board of Trustees. She is involved with the Rotary Club of Tuscaloosa, is an executive board member and president of the Tuscaloosa Co. Alumni Association, past president of the Nashville Alumni Association, a committee chairperson for Cystic Fibrosis, a Nashville Tennis Association board member and corporate fundraising chairperson, Hands on Charlotte Strategic Marketing Committee member, and a Young Leader's Council board member. Ms. West has also achieved national ranking in women's tennis singles and doubles (#7 and #2) and has competed in the North Carolina and Alabama Amateur Golf Championship.

Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Dr. Albright has published his research in scholarly and applied journals including: the Journal of Managerial Research (JMAR), Accounting Horizons, Behavioral Research in Accounting (BRIA), Management Accounting Research, Journal of Cost Management, Journal of Managerial Issues, Management Accounting, and The Journal of Corporate Accounting and Finance.
Dr. Albright also has published a variety of teaching cases based on his work with industry. Two teaching cases were published as part of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Professor/Practitioner Case Development Program. Two additional teaching cases were published by the Institute of Management Accounting (IMA) and used by the organization for its National Student Case Competition. The IMA also awarded Dr. Albright the Certificate of Merit for his work in the area of quality costs in a manufacturing environment. Together with Rob Ingram at the University of Alabama, Bruce Baldwin from Arizona State West, and John Hill from Indiana University, he has authored textbooks titled Managerial Accounting: Information for Decisions;Accounting: Information for Decisions; Financial Accounting: Information for Decisions; and Accounting: Managing Business Information.
He has been presented the MBA or Executive MBA Professor of the Year award on nine occasions since joining the faculty in 1990. In 2005, the University of Alabama National Alumni Association presented him with the Outstanding Commitment to Teaching Award. Dr. Albright has served on the board of directors for the Management Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association (AAA) and has co-chaired the Management Accounting Section mid-year conference. He has received grants, public and private, to support his work in the area of cost management, including federal support of his research efforts to determine the economic viability of high-speed vessels capable of servicing the middle market between air cargo and conventional ocean freighters. He also has consulted with a variety of manufacturing firms in the United States and Mexico in the area of Activity-based Costing.

Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Dr. Berkowitz is an associate professor of marketing and director of the Center for the Management of Technology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. His research has appeared in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Retailing, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Advising, European Journal of Marketing, European Journal of Innovation Management, Defense Acquisition Review Journal and the Journal of Product Innovation Management. At UAH, Dr. Berkowitz teaches Marketing High Technology Products, Managing Technology Development, and Marketing Management.
He received his Ph.D. in Marketing and Applied Statistics from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Before receiving his P.hD., Dr. Berkowitz worked for 12 years with Hallmark Cards. Dr. Berkowitz developed and implemented several analytical models and managed new product introductions while working with Hallmark Cards. He was involved with site selection, retail acquisition, international licensing and franchising. Dr. Berkowitz also owned and operated organizations on performance based logistics, customer satisfaction, strategic planning, brand loyalty and product development issues.

He works extensively with the auto industry, especially General Motors and Saturn. He also works with the forest, wood products and packaging industries in the areas of strategic management and re-engineering.

Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Ron has published eight books and more than 50 refereed academic articles. He is the 2006 recipient of the Kitty Locker Outstanding Researcher Award from the Association of Business Communication. Additionally, in the past year Ron received the Thomas Moore Outstanding Undergraduate Instructor Award and the College of Continuing Studies Outstanding Teacher Award and was selected as the inaugural speaker for the University of Alabama’s Last Lecture Series. The speaker for this series is selected based on a vote of all seniors at The University of Alabama. Previously Ron has received the National Alumni Association’s Outstanding Teacher Award and the Penny Allen Award for service to students. He has also been named OutstandingMBA/EMBA Instructor more than 15 times.
In the past five years, Ron has presented business and academic lectures in Shanghai, China; Helsinki, Finland; Dresden, Germany; Seoul, South Korea; Riga, Latvia; Moscow, Russia; and, Pretoria, South Africa.

Dr. Gray received the Wilcoxon Prize for Best Practical Application Paper in Technometrics in 1984 and is the co-author of two books, "Basic Statistical Ideas for Managers" (Second Edition) and "Business Cases in Statistical Decision Making: Computer Based Applications." Dr. Gray has received several teaching awards from the MBA and Executive MBA Associations of The University of Alabama and Texas Christian University. Greg has more than 25 years of experience as an industrial engineer, quality engineer, operations manager and plant manager in the metal stamping, electrical, sewing, defense, and financial industries. Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Dr. Leathers has received the EMBA Faculty Excellence Award five times. He is the co-author of Economists and the Stock Market published in 2000, and of The Economic Institutions of Higher Education, published in 2003. He has published articles in such journals as Cambridge Journal of Economics, History of Political Economy, The Adam Smith Review, Journal of Post Keynesian Economics, International Journal of Social Economics, Journal of Socio-Economics, International Review of Economics and Business, Journal of Business Ethics, Scottish Journal of Political Economy, and Journal of the History of Economic Thought. Nine of his articles have been reprinted in special volumes, the latest volumes being Globalization and Economy, and Economics and Religion. His current research activities include a focus on the role of monetary policymakers in dealing with financial instability, with particular attention to the impact of financial derivatives.

Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Professor Marino is an associate professor of entrepreneurship and strategic management at The University of Alabama where he is currently the head of the Entrepreneurship Program in the College of Commerce and Business Administration. He received his Ph.D. from Indiana University, his M.B.A. from SUNY Buffalo and his undergraduate from SUNY Geneseo. His primary areas of research and teaching include strategic management and entrepreneurship with subspecialties including strategic alliances, strategic management in small and medium sized enterprises, and new venture creation. His research has won two national Best Paper Awards and appears in top management journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, The Journal of International Business Studies, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. Professor Marino has presented his research at both national and international meetings. In the teaching arena, Professor Marino is an award -winning teacher who has developed cases and supplemental teaching materials for various courses. He currently teaches classes at the Executive MBA, MBA, Ph.D. and undergraduate levels in Entrepreneurship, Negotiations and Strategic Management. Professor Marino is active in consulting and teaches in the University of Alabama's Executive Leadership Series where he has conducted courses for companies such as Avocent, a leader in the Digital Switching industry, and Protective Life Corporation, a leader in the insurance industry.

Education: Professor Marsh received his B.S. and M.S. (combined degree) summa cum laude from Ohio State University in 1978 and his J.D. from Washington and Lee University in 1981. Previously he served in the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division (The Old Guard), from 1971 to 1974. He received the Burlington Northern Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1987 and the University of Alabama National Alumni Association Outstanding Commitment to Teaching Award in 1988. He was Director of the University Honors Program from 1989 to 1993. He received the Student Bar Association Outstanding Faculty Member Award in 1997 and 2001. He was the reporter for the Multiple Party Accounts Act and Revised UCC Articles 1, 3, 4 and 7 in Alabama. He has written numerous articles and a book on consumer protection, financial institution and dealer liability, payment systems, commercial law and NCAA-related topics. He was the Faculty Athletic Representative at Alabama from 1996 to 2003, has served on numerous NCAA and Southeastern Conference Committees, and is currently the Chair of the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions. He has been a member of the Committee on Infractions since 1999. He teaches courses in the School of Law on Consumer Protection, Contracts, Payment Systems and Business Organizations. In the College of Commerce and Business Administration, he teaches a course on Legal Issues in the Accounting Profession. He has testified in numerous cases in state and federal court and has worked for state and federal regulatory agencies in enforcement actions.

Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Dr. McLeod holds the professional designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA). He previously has served as the executive director of MBA Programs and Professional Education for the College, director of the UA Family Business Forum and president of the Academy of Financial Services. He has also served the Academy as vice president for finance and as the executive vice president for programs. He has been a member of the investments planning panel of the Certified Financial Planners Board. Dr. McLeod is the author of Bank Credit Cards for EFTS: A Cost Benefit Analysis, and co-author of four other books. Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Dr. Miller has authored over 50 articles in journals such as Management Science, International Journal of Production Research, and Harvard Business Review. He is a former editorial board member and national director of the Operations Research Division of IIE. He has served on the faculty of Georgia Tech, LSU, and VPI universities and as an examiner for the national Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award. Before joining The University of Alabama, he served as corporate productivity director for the Ethyl Corporation. He currently holds the position of director of the Alabama Productivity Center , and is a fellow in the World Academy of Productivity Sciences. As Center director, he oversees 15 or so applied research projects with Alabama firms each semester, including organizations such as Vanity Fair, Mercedes, Johnson and Johnson, Hyundai, Anniston Army Depot, and Sony. In addition, he has done extensive consulting with a variety of firms during the last 30 years on topics ranging from Strategy Planning to Lean Manufacturing.

He is on the executive board of the Society for Consumer Psychology. He is also co-author of the textbook Consumer Behavior: Building Marketing Strategy.
He teaches in a variety of programs, both undergraduate and graduate. He was presented the EMBA Professor of the Year Award in 2004, 2005, and 2006 and was presented the T.D. Moore Endowed Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2006. He has consulted in the areas of branding, services and customer satisfaction as well as conducted executive education seminars in the area of customer-centric communications.

He is the former Chief Engineer for the US Army Utility Helicopter Program: UH-60 (Blackhawk) and UH-1 (Huey). He previously served on the faculty of Defense Acquisition University. His previous industry positions include Director of Aviation Programs for Quality Research, Inc. and Director of the Aviation Engineering Center for Teledyne Brown Engineering.

Richard G. Rhoades

Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Dr. Rhoades began his Army career in uniform, serving as an Ordinance Officer from 1963-1965. He then became a civilian propulsion research engineer and technology program manager, before being selected for his first Senior Executive Service position in 1973 as Director of Propulsion. Subsequently, he served in both of the Missile Research Development, and Engineering Center’s Associate Director positions- serving as Associate Director for Technology from 1981-1989 and (in his final Government position) as Associate Director for Systems beginning in 1989. As such, he was responsible for all the Center’s activities in support of weapon system development, acquisition, and sustainment. In essence, he functioned as “Chief Operating Officer” of the Center, focusing on strategic and business planning, personnel development, and customer relations issues.
In addition to his normal assignments, Dr. Rhoades has been asked to serve on a number of senior-level ad-hoc groups within the Army and Department of Defense. In so doing, he has played a leadership roal for over a decade in the development and implementation of strategy for fundamentally restructuring and improving the Army’s science and technology organizations. For example, he developed the organizational design and operating concepts used or Army Research, Development, and Engineering Centers, helped to develop the Army’s response to the Defense Management Review and helped to guide the LAB-21 study that led to the formation of the Army Research Laboratory. In 1990-1991, he lead an AMC-wide team to convert AMC’s Vision-2000 downsizing concept to reality through the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission process. The BRAC-95 decision to form the Aviation and Missile Command is direct outgrowth of that planning. More recently, he chaired a tri-service Implementation Panel created to execute quality improvement initiatives (a “Reinvention Laboratory”) for DOD laboratories. Under his leadership, this Reinvention Laboratory obtained legislation to permit significant improvements in laboratory construction, personnel management, and research contracting.
In October 1997 Dr. Rhoades became Director of the UAH Research Institute and was also appointed to the faculties of the Colleges of Engineering and Administrative Science as a Research Professor. The Research Institute, including the Aerophysics Research Institute, has a staff of over 30 professionals and annual revenue of approximately $4 million, primarily from DOD customers. Dr. Rhoades currently teaches courses in the graduate Management of Technology program. Dr. Rhoades has published numerous articles on propulsion and management topics and holds two patents on propulsion intentions.

Honors, Achievements and Affiliations: Dr. Allen Wilhite is a Professor of Economics and Chair of the Department of Economics and Information Systems at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Professor Wilhite’s expertise is in agen-based computational economics, a newly emerging field in economics that takes advantage of the dramatic rise in computer power of the last two decades. Agent-based computational economics creates virtual economic worlds such as artificial markets or corporations and then stresses those systems to see how they respond. In this fashion extraneous shocks or policy options can be tested in a virtual environment before they are released on society.
Professor Wilhite received his PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois- Urbana/Champaign in 1981. He has published more than forty articles in academic journals or as chapters in books. His recent publications appear in Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, The Handbook of Computational Economics, Public Choice, Technovation, Computational Economics, and The Journal of Politics.
